Mayawati on Karnataka Election: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati expressed strong displeasure over the dismal performance of the party in the recently concluded Karnataka Assembly elections. Mayawati reviewed the performance of the party in the Karnataka Assembly elections on Tuesday (May 23) in a meeting with senior and responsible office-bearers of the BSP. He has instructed the office bearers to increase the mass base of BSP on the basis of cadre.
During the review meeting, the BSP chief expressed strong displeasure over the party’s humiliating defeat in the Karnataka assembly elections. He said that the preparation of the party in every state should be done in such a way that the atmosphere in the elections should be in favor of any party, but the position of BSP should be good. Mayawati said that there is a need to pay special attention to this. According to the statement issued by the party, during the meeting, Mayawati, while pointing out the shortcomings left at the party level in the Karnataka assembly elections, instructed the office bearers to increase the party’s mass base on the basis of cadre.
Mayawati instructed the office bearers in the meeting to make the party workers and supporters aware that only after coming to power in the hands of BSP, according to the mission of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay, the exploited and deprived society will be transformed. Can be made to stand on its feet.
‘Dalit and Muslim sections made Congress win’
Mayawati said that especially the Dalit and Muslim community should become very alert and cautious about their proper participation in power and their political future. In Karnataka, the people of these sections have unitedly voted for the Congress. However, these sections were neglected while forming the government. He said that ‘this gives the same lesson that not only in Karnataka, but people of this class across the country need to prepare further by understanding the bitter truth’.
It is worth mentioning that in the recently held Karnataka assembly elections, BSP had fielded candidates for a total of 133 seats, but it could not get a single seat. In the last assembly elections held in the year 2018, BSP had won one seat.
