A case of ‘Love Jihad’ has come to light from Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh. On Thursday (November 16, 2023), a Dalit girl accused Shaan-e-Alam of pressurizing her to marry him and making her photo-video viral when he refused. In the viral photo-video, the girl is seen in burqa. The accused also said casteist words to the victim. The police have arrested Shaan-e-Alam and sent him to jail.
This case is of Amroha police station Dehat. On November 16, 2023, a Dalit girl lodged a complaint with the police here. The 19-year-old victim, belonging to the Jatav community, told that a year ago she used to work in a private job in a university. A young man named Shaan-e-Alam used to follow the victim when she used to go to office. Shaan-e-Alam is a resident of Kakarsarai village of Amroha. It has been told in the complaint that while stalking, the accused used to pressurize the victim to marry him.
According to the victim, after a few days, Shaan-e-Alam took photographs and made a video of the victim against her will. When the girl protested against this act, the accused first used casteist words at her and then even threatened to kill her. After a few days, Shaan-e-Alam, accused of not marrying himself, started making photos and videos of the girl viral on social media. The victim has described herself as very scared in her complaint.
Sir, please inform in this matter that on the basis of the complaint received, a case has been registered under relevant sections and the accused has been arrested and sent to jail. Advance legal action is being taken.

According to media reports, in one of the pictures made viral by the accused, the victim is seen in a burqa. Shaan-e-Alam himself is seen standing behind. At the end of her complaint, the victim has demanded strict action against Shaan-e-Alam. On this complaint, the police have registered an FIR against the accused under sections 354 (d) and 504 of the IPC along with section 67 of the IT Act and SC/ST Act. OpIndia has the complaint copy.
