Congress candidate Manish Yadav has been the student union president of Rajasthan University. Due to this, he has a lot of popularity among the youth. Manish Yadav had contested the 2013 elections from this seat as an independent candidate, in which he got more than 25,000 votes. Contested elections on Congress symbol in 2018, but did not win the elections. However, their popularity is continuously increasing.
3. Alok Beniwal, Independent
Alok Beniwal, son of veteran Congress leader Kamla Beniwal, wanted to contest elections from Congress in 2018, but the party did not give him the ticket. After this, he contested the elections as an independent candidate and won from Shahpura and became MLA. Alok Beniwal’s name has also surfaced in the Jal Jeevan Mission scam. He is also facing legal problems in this matter. In this election also, he was seeking ticket from Congress, but after his name cropped up in Jal Jeevan Mission scam, Congress distanced himself from him and once again Congress gave ticket to Manish Yadav. In such a situation, angry Alok Beniwal is contesting the elections as an independent candidate for the second time.
