MP Election 2023: Both parties are happy about the increased voting percentage in Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. Ruling parties BJP and Congress are claiming their respective victories, but what do experts think? Let us understand from these figures.
In the voting held on November 17 in Madhya Pradesh, 77.12 percent people voted, whereas last time i.e. in 2018, 75.3 percent people voted. Interestingly, the share of women voters has also increased in the increase in vote percentage.
What are BJP and Congress saying?
In the last election, about 1 crore 78 lakh women had voted, which increased to 1 crore 92 lakh this time. Regarding this, BJP spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi said that this vote is in favor of Ladli Brahmin Yojana.
BJP organization claims that Ladli Brahmin Yojana will be a game changer. BJP has got an increase of two to three thousand votes from women in every assembly. Two thousand votes of women voters also matter on the stuck seats in the state. In such a situation, the result of most of the thorny seats will be in favor of BJP and it will be close to forming the government.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Abbas Hafeez said that this time there are thirty-four districts in Madhya Pradesh where women voters are more than men, but looking at the figures in this way, the number of women voters in the state had increased by 31 lakhs and by 15 lakhs the number of women voters had increased by 15 lakhs. Only lakhs cast their votes. That means the voting percentage decreased in proportion to the numbers.
Shivraj government had started Ladli Brahmin Yojana before the elections. In this, starting from Rs 1000, Rs 1250 started coming into the account of every woman. The number of women who received benefits was 1 crore 32 lakh. A huge budget of the government was spent in its branding and promotion. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan claims in private discussions that women voters will form his government in Madhya Pradesh for the fifth time, but experts are divided on this matter.
What are political analysts saying?
Political analyst Rashid Kidwai said that no single plan makes or breaks the government. Women voters have decreased overall. Whereas political analyst KS Shiney said that women voters have definitely come towards the government due to this scheme and the increase in their voting percentage is the effect of this scheme.
The claims of both the parties have their place, but the truth will be known only on December 3.
