Maratha Reservation: Jarange Patil, who had gone on hunger strike and protest demanding Maratha reservation, has now become the star leader of Marathas. Even though he has stopped his hunger strike till December on the assurance of Maharashtra Government, he is touring all over Maharashtra. During this time, Patil is holding meetings in every city to unite the Marathas and get reservation.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday (November 21), he reached Thane, the city of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, adjacent to Mumbai. Here also he addressed a public meeting. Patil said in his speech, “I am not afraid of the Chief Minister coming to the city. Even if attempts are made to stop me.”
‘Reservation should be received on time’
Praising Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during the speech, Patil said that he has the ability to take decisions. If they give reservation, we will keep them in good stead, but reservation should be given on time. He further warned that if the Maharashtra government does not take a decision on the issue of Maratha reservation by December 24, then a meeting will be held and the decision to protest will be taken.
Jarange Patil took a dig at the leaders who spoke against him on the issue of Maratha Kunbi reservation and those who were in favor of OBC reservation and said that a minister came and said that Kunbi certificate cannot be given. I told him how your caste went to OBC, went away and never came back.
‘I’m not doing anything wrong’
It is noteworthy that Jarange is trying to unite the Marathas in his meetings and is advising everyone to speak against reservation. He says, I am not doing any mistake. I am fighting for Maratha reservation by staking everything and now I need the support of all the Marathas of Maharashtra.”
