That means, if someone has been sentenced to five years and has come out on parole for 30 days, then after completion of five years of the sentence, he will have to spend 30 more days in jail. Now, since Ram Rahim has been sentenced to life imprisonment, that is, he has to remain in jail till his death, no matter how many days he remains out of jail on parole, he will have to die in jail. Which prisoner will get parole and who will not, is decided by the state government and the good conduct of the prisoner.
In such a situation, the Haryana government repeatedly approves the good conduct of Ram Rahim and also approves his parole application, due to which Ram Rahim keeps coming out.
Whereas for Ram Rahim who is coming out of jail again and again, he has another option of furlough. A prisoner gets furlough when he has spent at least 3 years of his sentence in jail. In this respect, Ram Rahim has spent three years in jail. The special thing about furlough is that this period is also added to the punishment, that is, the prisoner does not have to face additional punishment if he comes out on furlough.
