A case of assault with a sweeper from the Dalit community has come to light in Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur. A person from the Muslim community has been accused of beating. In protest against the incident, BJP candidate Acharya Balmukund demonstrated with brooms in his hands along with the people of Valmiki community. The police have registered a case and are investigating this matter. The incident took place on Monday (November 20, 2023).
According to media reports, the incident took place in Shastri Nagar police station area of Jaipur. In ward number 55 of Kishanpole area here, a sweeper from the Valmiki community was beaten up by a Muslim youth. In this attack, the victim sweeper was badly injured and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. The family members of the victim allege that when they got information about the incident, they reached the police station to complain but the police did not register their FIR. Due to the incident, anger spread among other sanitation workers.
When Bharatiya Janata Party’s assembly candidate from Hawamahal, Acharya Balmukund, came to know about this matter, he also reached the police station along with his colleagues. He staged a protest with his supporters accusing the police of protecting the accused. During this, slogans of Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata ki Jai were raised. After which, under pressure, the police finally registered an FIR against the youth who assaulted them.
It is being told that some people have also been detained and are being interrogated. The police pacified the protesting people by assuring them of strict action.

During the protest, other sanitation workers alleged that people from the Muslim community beat them up on a daily basis. He also accused the administration of ignoring his complaints. During the dharna, Acharya Balmukund alleged that people of a particular class had created terror not just in one area but in many areas. He named the rule of Gehlot government as ‘Mughal period’. Acharya Balmukund also claims that thousands of his workers are joining the Bharatiya Janata Party due to the Muslim appeasement policy of the Congress government.
