A new case of ‘Love Jihad’ has come to light from Assam in North-East India. Here in Guwahati, a 26-year-old woman named Anju Dorji died under suspicious circumstances on 12 November 2023. During police investigation, it was found to be a case of murder. Now in this case, the police has arrested a person named Mani Khan on Sunday (November 19, 2023). Mani Khan, who was married and had a child, was in a live-in relationship with the deceased Anju Doraji for a long time.
According to media reports, this matter is from Six Mile area of Guwahati. Here a woman named Anju Doraji, originally a resident of Bokajan, lived in a rented flat. Anju’s flat was hanging from outside for a long time. On November 12, when a foul smell came from inside the house, nearby people informed the police. When the police opened the flat from outside, Anju’s dead body was lying inside. Investigation revealed that Anju had been murdered. The murder took place 2-3 days before the body was recovered. Then the police registered a case against the unknown killer and started investigation.
During investigation, police came to know about Mani Khan, originally a resident of Barpeta district. Mani Khan was in a live-in relationship with the deceased for a long time. Mani Khan’s phone was switched off since the day of the incident. Since then he had not even returned to the flat. The police examined the CCTV footage installed in and around the flat. Later, after collecting other evidence, Mani Khan was arrested from Dispur. Mani Khan, who is in a live-in relationship with Anju, is already married and the father of 2 children.
In a significant development, the prime accused in the Six-Mile murder case, Mani Khan, has been apprehended by the police after being on the run since the discovery of the victim’s body. At present, the police is also trying to find out whether anyone else is involved with Money Khan in this case. Also, Anju’s viscera has been sent for testing.
