From today i.e. 1st October, 8 small and big changes have taken place. The prices of commercial gas cylinders have been increased by Rs 209. At the same time, the annual interest on Post Office Recurring Deposit (RD) will now be 6.7% instead of 6.5%. Apart from this, you will have to pay more tax on using international credit or debit cards. We are telling you about 9 such changes that have taken place from today.
1. Commercial gas cylinder becomes expensive
Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders. In Delhi it has now become costlier by Rs 209 to Rs 1731.50. Earlier the cylinder was available for Rs 1,522. Whereas in Kolkata, a 19 kg cylinder will be available at Rs 1839.50 instead of Rs 1636, in Mumbai its price will increase from Rs 1482 to Rs 1684, in Chennai it will be available for Rs 1898.
There is no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinders. Last month, the central government had reduced the prices of domestic gas cylinders by Rs 200. Currently it is available for Rs 903 in Delhi, Rs 908 in Bhopal and Rs 906 in Jaipur.
2. Work like making driving license-Aadhaar will be done through birth certificate.
From October 1, the importance of birth certificate has increased in document verification. Under the new rule, birth certificate can be used as a single document at many places including school admission, issuing driving license, voter ID, marriage registration, government employment, passport and Aadhaar.
3. Using credit and debit cards abroad will be expensive
From October 1, using international credit or debit cards abroad has become expensive. 20% tax collected at source i.e. TCS will be levied on this. In this budget, TCS was increased from 5% to 20%. Now the use of International Credit Cards outside India has come under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme i.e. LRS.
There will be no 20% TCS on spending up to Rs 7 lakh through international debit and credit cards in a financial year. But if someone makes a card payment of Rs 8 lakh in a financial year while traveling abroad, then he will have to pay TDS of 20% i.e. Rs 1.6 lakh on the entire amount. In case of expenditure exceeding Rs 7 lakh to Rs 1, the entire amount will come under the purview of TCS.
4. Now you will get more interest on post office RD
The central government has increased interest rates on post office recurring deposits (RD) by 0.2% for October-December. Now the interest rates on 5 year RD have been increased from 6.5% to 6.7%. Interest rates on all other small savings schemes have been kept the same as in July-September. The highest interest of 8.2% is available on Senior Citizen Saving Scheme.
5. Crash test of vehicles will be done in the country itself
Here, the agency will crash test the cars as per the norms set according to the Indian conditions and give them a safety rating. In this test, cars will be given a rating from 0 to 5 stars. 0 star means unsafe and 5 star means completely safe. Crash test of cars will be done from October 1. Till now, auto maker companies have registered about 30 models of cars for testing.
6. Aadhaar is mandatory for small savings schemes. Aadhaar is mandatory in the account.

7. Hero MotoCorp Karizma XMR becomes costlier
From today, Hero MotoCorp’s premium sports bike Karizma XMR has become costlier by Rs 7 thousand. The ex-showroom price of Hero Karizma XMR has increased from Rs 1,72,900 to Rs 1,79,900. This bike can be booked by paying token money of Rs 3000. Its delivery will be started in this festive season.
8. Tata commercial vehicles will become expensive
Tata Motors has announced to increase the prices of commercial vehicles. The company said in its exchange filing that it has decided to increase the prices of different models and variants of commercial vehicles by an average of 3%.
