Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) can now charge users a monthly subscription fee. Company owner Elon Musk said this in a live program with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This meeting between Musk and Netanyahu was taking place regarding the risk and regulation of AI.
Musk said that this will get rid of bots i.e. fake players which are robots and complete their tasks automatically. However, Musk did not tell how much money X users would have to pay for this.
550 million users post up to 200 million posts daily
Musk said that the company currently has about 550 million users, who post 100 to 200 million posts daily. In this, Musk did not tell how many authentic users and how many bots are there in X at present. A year ago, Twitter had said that monthly subscription could be charged from 229 million users.
For ‘X-Premium’ one has to pay 8 dollars a month.
‘ For this, users are charged a subscription fee of 8 dollars (865 rupees) every month or 84 dollars for a year i.e. about 7 thousand rupees. In return, the company gives the user a blue-tick, facility to edit posts, higher word limit for a post and many other features.
This meeting between Musk and Netanyahu was taking place regarding the risk and regulation of AI.

Elon Musk has launched Blue Subscription worldwide. Blue subscription cost for web users in India is Rs 650. The subscription charge for mobile is Rs 900 per month. Many features are available in it including blue tick, long video post.
4. Character limit increased, limit for reading posts
Musk has increased the character limit of posts from 280 to 25,000. Limit for reading posts has also been applied. Verified users can read only ten thousand posts in a day. Unverified users can read one thousand posts, while new unverified users can read only 500 posts daily.
5.Platform name and logo changed to X
On July 24, Elon Musk changed the name and logo of the social media platform ‘Twitter’ to X. After this, late night on July 26, the company owner made a small change in the logo design. Musk has made the X logo bolder and sharper. Musk had said, the logo will develop with time. While Musk had said on changing the name of Twitter to ‘X’, Twitter will provide all types of financial services in the coming months. In such a situation, the name Twitter has no meaning.
