Diabetes Reversal Tips by Dr. Paras Agarwal: When someone has diabetes, the level of sugar or glucose in his blood increases more than normal. There are many methods to find out the amount of sugar in the blood. The first one is fasting blood sugar. In this, after fasting for 8 hours at night, sugar is tested in the morning without eating or drinking anything. Fasting blood sugar in a normal person should be less than 100 mg/dL. If it is up to 120-130 then it can be completely cured by improving lifestyle. But if fasting blood sugar reaches 150 mg/dL, can it be reversed? News 18 asked this question to Dr. Paras Aggarwal, a famous diabetologist of Max Healthcare Gurgaon. He told that it depends on whether you are diabetic or not. If other sugar related tests like HB1AC, post meal test etc. are normal then it can be reversed.
Under which conditions can sugar be reversed?
Dr. Paras Aggarwal told that if the sugar level is normal in all the tests related to blood sugar and it has been decided that he is not diabetic yet and is in the pre-diabetic stage, then in this situation the fasting blood sugar can reach 150. If it does not progress further then it can be easily managed, provided several lifestyle improvements are required. He told that even if the blood sugar level is slightly increased in every type of test, it can be reversed. For this it is necessary to strictly follow some rules.
