Lucknow. The faces of the children and their parents lit up after seeing the magnificent campus, well-planned arrangements and good class rooms. This was the scene of the beginning of the session of Atal Residential Schools. Where construction workers, destitute during the Corona period and children eligible for the Chief Minister Bal Seva Yojana came to get free quality education on the lines of Navodaya Vidyalaya.
Atal Residential School is an innovative initiative of the UP government to improve the future of laborers and destitute children from Corona.
On Monday, the newly admitted children and their parents were surprised to see the arrangements for classes, hostel rooms, mess. Till now such a magnificent arrangement was just a matter of imagination for them. The children were elated to know that all these arrangements have been made for them.
According to the information received from the government, in these schools built in different divisions of the state, 80 students have been admitted in class six through the entrance examination, in which 40 are girls and 40 are boys.
District and divisional level officers also took part in the program of session start organized in these schools on Monday. He interacted with the students and parents and encouraged them.
Officials said that the intention of the government is that no student should be deprived of quality education because of money. This school will give a new flight to the dreams of the children of laborers as well as destitute children and make them good citizens, who will be able to contribute in the development of the state and the country.
The first academic session of the Atal Residential School, which started at Sahjanwa in Gorakhpur division, was celebrated as a festival. The teachers of the school welcomed the newly admitted children and their parents.
Vikas Jaiswal, a laborer resident of Nausad, who came to drop his daughter Garima to the school, said, “Even after increasing his present earning manifold, he is not able to teach children in such a school. The worry of studies has gone away, now the future of the children will be better.
He also thanked CM Yogi for providing facility like convent school to the children of laborers free of cost.
Atal Residential School in Karsada, Varanasi has been constructed at a cost of Rs 66.54 crore. Four houses namely Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati and Gomti have been built in the school. The first session there also started.
Meanwhile, Aslam, a laborer from Chandauli, who came with the desire to give computer education to his son, said, “His son wanted to study in a good school. But, due to low income it was difficult to do so.
He said that my family’s dream has come true. Now we are free from worries.”
It is noteworthy that the official inauguration of this school is proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23 September. But, the session has started here also from today.
