The Indian cricket team has to face Australia in a 3-match ODI series to strengthen its preparations for the ODI World Cup 2023. This series is going to start from 22nd of this month. Team India has been announced for this series. Ravichandran Ashwin has once again been included in the team after years. Captain Rohit Sharma has given a big statement on the inclusion of Ashwin in the team.
Why was Ashwin included in the team?
Rohit said at the time of team announcement that every game we play is important. Despite winning the Asia Cup, we had to stay at a neutral venue. The atmosphere in the team is very good, now our focus is on the World Cup. Rohit Sharma further said that Ashwin has been playing continuously in Tests, he has a lot of experience. Ashwin last played an ODI match for Team India in January 2022. That means, after about 21 months, this player will be seen back playing ODI matches for the team. Ashwin has played 113 ODI matches for Team India in which he has taken 151 wickets.
