PM Modi personally said on this occasion that he had never thought that a child from a poor family living on a railway platform would reach Parliament. Demand for women’s reservation bill
The Women’s Reservation Bill, also known as the Constitution (108th Amendment) Bill, 2008, was the main issue in the Lok Sabha on the first day of the special session. Many parties have been insisting on discussion on this pending bill for a long time. It has already been passed in the Rajya Sabha in 2010. If this bill is passed, one-third of all seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies will be reserved for women.
