International Ganesh Mahotsav will be organized to promote tourism, to introduce traditional art and culture to domestic and foreign tourists and to promote Ganeshotsav at the international level. Initiative to attract tourists
Minister Girish Mahajan said that the festival has been organized by the Directorate of Tourism to attract a large number of tourists to the state. Ganeshotsav is a medium to showcase art, cultural heritage and unity of the people. Through this festival, efforts will be made to spread traditional art and cultural heritage to the world.
Tourism stakeholders, travel agents, tour operators, travel journalists and social media influencers as well as representatives of foreign embassies will also be invited during the Mahotsav. He also said that innovative activities will also be implemented to showcase cultural pride along with public Ganeshotsav mandals in Mumbai, Pune, Palghar and Ratnagiri along with Ganesh darshan in Ratnagiri.
Many types of cultural programs will be organized
During the festival, special cultural centers focusing on different forms of Lord Ganesha will be created at the Gateway of India. Programs telling success stories of patriotism through sand sculpture, mosaic art, exhibition of scroll art, projection mapping will be organised.
Art workshops showcasing the traditional tribal Warli culture of Maharashtra, handicrafts made by various artisans, cultural programs showcasing folk culture will be organized at various places as part of the 10-day Ganeshotsav festival for national and international tourists.
