Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who is on a two-day visit to Kashmir, visited Ganeshotsav Mandal in Lal Chowk, Srinagar on Sunday. Public Ganesh Utsav is celebrated here for the last 24 years through the local Marathi Swarnakar Samaj. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presented the idol of Ganesh ji to the board on this occasion. Ganeshotsav celebrated publicly in Panchmukhi Hanuman temple
Marathi Swarnakar Samaj lives in Lal Chowk, Srinagar. Earlier, Ganeshotsav was celebrated by installing Lord Ganesha in the house. But 24 years ago, public celebration of Ganeshotsav was started in the Panchmukhi Hanuman temple of the Chowk. The local Muslim community is also involved in this on a large scale. Ganeshotsav is celebrated for ten days.
Chief Minister Shinde said that Marathi society in Maharashtra and abroad celebrates Ganeshotsav with enthusiasm. Like every year, this year also Ganeshotsav is going to be celebrated by the Marathi community in Srinagar. Today I met this group and wished them a happy Ganesh Chaturthi.
