World Cup 2023
Cricket fans around the world are currently waiting for the Cricket World Cup to be played in India. The teams for the World Cup have been announced. At the same time, news of changes from the teams is continuously coming out. Players of many teams are getting injured due to which there is always scope for change. Meanwhile, a big update has come out from the South African team. In fact, before the World Cup, two players of the African team are in danger of being dropped from the team.
Clouds of trouble hang over these two players
The availability of South African cricket team fast bowlers Enrique Norkhia and Sisanda Magala will be determined after a fitness test this week. The pair of fast bowlers were selected in South Africa’s initial 15-man squad for the World Cup, but have since played only one match each in the recent 3-2 ODI series win over Australia. Let us tell you that Norkhia has suffered a lower back injury, while Magala has suffered a left knee injury.
Decision will be taken in a few days
According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, a final decision on their inclusion will be taken before South Africa depart for India on September 23, with early indications that both are at risk of not traveling for the ODI World Cup. Team head coach Rob Walter said that we want him in the team. It is difficult to include injured players in the team in the World Cup because then you have to give many reasons for their exclusion.
If either Norkhia or Magala are ruled out of the World Cup, South Africa are most likely to include fast bowler Andile Phehlukwayo.
