Ajinkya Rahane played a historic inning for India in the final match of the World Test Championship. He scored a brilliant 89 runs in this match. When the Indian team needed an important innings from Rahane, then he did that work for the team. Rahane also hit 11 fours and a six during this innings. He has also become the first player from India to score a half-century in the final of the World Test Championship. Rahane has also completed his 5000 Test runs in this match. He has become the 13th Indian player to do so.
Made a comeback in Team India
Ajinkya Rahane was dropped from Team India’s squad. Due to being in poor form for a long time, Rahane was not able to make his place in the Indian team. But before the World Test Championship, Team India’s batsman Shreyas Iyer got injured and he was out of Team India for a long time. Meanwhile, Rahane continued his fine form for CSK in Ranji and IPL. Seeing the kind of innings he played for CSK in this year’s IPL, he got a chance to play for Team India after 513 days and Rahane utilized the opportunity brilliantly.
