Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express: After the triple train accident in Odisha, the Coromandel Express ran once again after four days. The Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express down train from Chennai crossed the accident site at a speed of 30 kmph on Tuesday (June 6) near Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district.
From now on, Coromandel Express will leave Shalimar at 15:20 hours at its scheduled time from 7th June. On June 2, more than 288 people died and more than 1200 were injured in the accident of three trains near Bahanagar Bazar station in Balasore district of Odisha. All the injured are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
People were present to see the train
At the same time, four days after the accident, the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express down train from Chennai crossed the accident site at a speed of 30 kmph on Tuesday (June 6) near Bahanaga Bazar station. As soon as the Coromandel train passed the spot, a large number of people were present there.
More than 70 trains passed through Bahanaga Bazar station
Since the restoration of both up and down lines on Sunday night, till now more than 70 trains including Vande Bharat Express have passed through Bahanaga Bazar station. Whereas, the CBI has taken over the investigation of the train accident. On June 6, the CBI registered an FIR in this matter. A CBI spokesperson said that a team has reached Balasore and visited the spot.
CBI registered case
The CBI has registered a case in connection with the train accident involving the Coromandel Express, Yesvantpur-Howrah Express and a goods train on the request of the Ministry of Railways, consent of the Government of Odisha and orders of the Central Government.
The CBI team inspected the signal room and railway tracks on Tuesday. Also questioned the railway officials posted at Bahanaga Bazar railway station. Along with the CBI officials, the forensic team also reached the spot.
