Chennai Super Kings won the IPL 2023 title by defeating Gujarat Titans. This was the fifth title of the CSK team. But in IPL 2023, CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had a knee problem. Dhoni’s knee operation has been successful and CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanath has given a big statement on this.
Dhoni’s successful surgery
Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni underwent a successful knee operation at a hospital in Mumbai, boosting his chances of playing in the Indian Premier League next year. Dhoni, who won the fifth IPL title to Chennai Super Kings, reached Mumbai directly from Ahmedabad after the final. He consulted renowned sports orthopedic surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who is also on the BCCI medical panel. He has performed surgery on many Indian cricketers including Rishabh Pant.
CEO said this
CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanath told PTI that Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s knee surgery has been done successfully at Kokilaben Hospital. He is fine and the operation was done in the morning itself. I am yet to get the details of this. It is learned that Dhoni has been discharged from the hospital. A source close to the CSK management told on condition of anonymity that he has already been discharged from the hospital and has moved to Ranchi. He will rest at home for a few days before starting his rehabilitation. Hopefully, he will have full time to get fit before the next IPL. In IPL 2023, Dhoni was seen playing with a bandage on his knee for most of the time.
Said this on retirement
After the IPL final, Mahendra Singh Dhoni had said that given the circumstances, this is the best time for me to retire. It is very easy for me to say that I am leaving now but it is difficult to come back after working hard for the next nine months and play one more season, if my body allows, I will play.
