The district administration has banned the gathering of people anywhere in the city till the 19th.

Instructions have been given to take strict action
On the Kolhapur incident, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said that it is the responsibility of the government to maintain law and order in the state. I also appeal to the public to maintain peace. Police investigation is underway and action will be taken against those found guilty. On the other hand, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has instructed the Home Department to take strict action against the culprits. He said that there is no apology in Maharashtra for those who praise Aurangzeb. Police is also taking action. Also, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that people also maintain peace, lest any untoward incident takes place.
