New Delhi. Jamia Millia Islamia Central University retained its third position in the Universities category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2023 for the second consecutive year. JMI not only retained its 3rd rank in the university category, but also improved its rank from 13th last year to 12th this year in the overall category. As per NIRF data, the areas in which JMI has performed exceptionally well include Law, Dentistry, Architecture and Planning, Research, Engineering and Management.
According to the Jamia University Administration, in Law, Jamia has secured 5th position this year as against 7th last year, while in Architecture and Planning, Jamia has made a significant improvement from 9th to 6th position. The most significant achievement is seen in Dental, where JMI has secured 10th position this year as against last year’s 16th position. In engineering, Jamia has retained its position as the 26th best engineering college in the country. Jamia ranks 20th among all the institutes in the country in terms of research.
Vice Chancellor of Jamia Prof. Najma Akhtar said that this wave of happiness in Jamia campus reminds us of our disciplined and systematic work, meticulous research, overall dedication and collective efforts. The jubilation that has flowed from our performance has instilled in us a renewed enthusiasm for better efforts and results in the future. Jamia has also achieved the ranking of ‘A++’ in the ranking of NAAC.
Significantly, the Union Ministry of Education has released the ‘NIRF’ ranking of colleges and other higher educational institutions across the country. Jamia has got the third position in the national university ranking. While IIT Madras has become the best educational institution in the country in the overall ranking, Miranda House College of Delhi University has been declared the best college in the country in the ranking of colleges. The Hindu College of Delhi University is at the second place in this ranking. As per the rankings, five of the top 10 colleges across the country are from Delhi University.
