Loksabha Elections 2024: Senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Ajit Pawar said a big thing on Monday (June 5) about ticket distribution. He said that during the distribution of tickets in the next Lok Sabha elections, candidates will be selected on the basis of ‘winnability’. He said that the decision on Shirur Lok Sabha seat will be taken after discussion with senior leaders. This seat is currently represented by Amol Kolhe of NCP.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Kolhe defeated Shiv Sena’s Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil. There was an alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena in this election. After the results of the last assembly elections, Shiv Sena broke the alliance with BJP on the issue of Chief Minister and formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government with NCP-Congress.
Party workers reprimanded
Pawar was talking to reporters on the sidelines of NCP’s review meeting. In this meeting, the preparations for the rally organized in Ahmednagar on the foundation day of the party on June 9 were also discussed. The NCP leader said, “At the time of distribution of tickets for the Lok Sabha elections, a chance will be given to those candidates who have more chances of winning.” During the review meeting, Pawar reprimanded the party workers and said that he would take action if infighting within the unit continued.
‘Infighting is tarnishing our image’
Ajit Pawar said, “All NCP office-bearers of Mulshi (Pune tehsil) should work. Party workers of Mulshi have been given posts and they don’t need to fight or else I will slap. Our image because of infighting It is getting spoiled, not yours. Sharad Pawar’s image is being insulted. What kind of behavior is this? I will take back the posts given to you.”
‘Everyone knows about the verdict now’
Targeting the BJP on the issue of OBC quota, Pawar said that it was the MVA government which had decided to approach the court in this matter. He said, “When the Supreme Court approved OBC reservation (in civic body elections) in Madhya Pradesh, our team went there and discussed the strategy adopted by them. know about.”
18 ministers were inducted in the cabinet on 9 May
Ajit Pawar also slammed the state government for the delay in cabinet expansion. “Is it their (state government’s) prerogative. They think the cabinet of 20 ministers is doing a good job. They feel it is fair not to give proper representation to women in the cabinet,” she said. Let us inform that, after taking oath of the Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis government in June last year, 18 ministers were included in the cabinet on May 9 while the total number of ministerial posts is 43.
