Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University: The East Delhi Campus of Delhi’s Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University was inaugurated on Thursday (June 8). This campus was jointly inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena. However, there was a lot of controversy regarding this inauguration.
In fact, the Lieutenant Governor’s office of Delhi alleged that the LG was to inaugurate this campus on May 23, in which the Chief Minister of Delhi and the Education Minister would also attend as guests, but its date was pushed back. According to the Lieutenant Governor’s office, it was postponed so that the Kejriwal government could take credit for it. However, on this, Delhi’s Education Minister Atishi replied that due to the busyness of the Chief Minister of Delhi, the date of this inauguration was postponed and its information was already given to the LG office.
Heavy deployment of paramilitary forces
Keeping this controversy and uproar in mind, heavy deployment of Delhi Police and paramilitary forces was also done in the entire campus. During this, when the Chief Minister and LG reached for the inauguration on Thursday, the supporters of BJP and ‘AAP’ started shouting slogans against each other. Amidst the uproar, the LG and the Chief Minister inaugurated this campus and also saw the entire campus. After this, when everyone’s turn came to give speech, there was fierce sloganeering between both the BJP and AAP in the auditorium.
assembly speaker came down from the stage
Slogans of Jai Shri Ram kept on being raised from BJP side and AAP workers kept on raising slogans of Kejriwal Zindabad. During this, Speaker of Delhi Assembly Ram Niwas Goyal also got angry and left the stage. In fact, Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal said that I am on a constitutional post, my name was not even in the newspapers, I was invited. I came and my name was not there in the list of speakers, so I went down and sat down, I am coming and speaking on the behest of the Chief Minister.
false slogans
After this Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal came to deliver the speech. Shortly after Arvind Kejriwal’s speech, fierce sloganeering started from BJP workers. During this, BJP workers raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram and lies. After which Kejriwal said, I request, this is democracy, listen to me for 5 minutes, if you don’t like it, raise slogans later. I am only saying good things, no one is even abusing.
‘One lakh additional seats needed’
On these slogans, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that I wish the education system could be better with these slogans. Now we have to focus on education after 12th. Every year 2.5 lakh children pass 12th in Delhi. When we came to the government, there was a provision of seats in the college for only 1.1 lakh children in Delhi, now we have been able to take it up to 1.5 lakh. We need to arrange seats for one lakh more children.
‘Such education will have to be given which gives employment’
Arvind Kejriwal further said that Macaulay had created the education system to produce clerks, unfortunately the same system is continuing. Now we have to give such education which gives employment. Now robotics etc. will be taught here. The accountability of the Vice Chancellor of every university should be on the fact that the children got jobs. But there is a shortage of jobs, we have to become job givers and not job creators.
Delhi government has done an experiment- CM
CM Kejriwal said that the Delhi government has done an experiment. Business Blaster’s. The children were given seed money of two thousand each. When Manish Sisodia and Atishi started this project. After which once again an uproar started from the side of BJP workers. On this, Arvind Kejriwal once again said that everyone has the right to speak, let me speak, then comment the comment.
How many colleges did the kids go to after 12th?
He said that our three lakh children have formed 52 teams and are doing business. The mindset of children is changing. If we start this within colleges, develop business ideas. There is an appeal to Atishi and VC to take steps in this regard. We also need to conduct a survey as to how many colleges the children went to after 12th.
Minister Smriti Irani laid the foundation stone of the campus
After this, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena came to give a speech, in which he said that I am fortunate that I got the opportunity to inaugurate this campus in the presence of the CM. In 2014, the then Education Minister Smriti Irani laid its foundation stone. The cost of this campus is 378 crores, out of which 346 crores has been given by the university itself. Which is an example in itself, the Delhi government had sanctioned 41 crores on its behalf. The Lieutenant Governor said that other universities should learn from this university. We have to give the student the power to fight the darkness. This challenge should be to the wind.
During this, AAP supporters also started raising slogans. AAP’s supporter said that only one era of corruption Kejriwal Kejriwal. On which the Lieutenant Governor said that we feel that there is a lack of education here. After this, on the uproar, when Delhi’s Education Minister Atishi said that anyone who has come on the stage to deliver a speech in this way, no matter which party he belongs to, should not raise slogans in this way. Along with this, taking a jibe at the BJP, Atishi said that this is the character of the BJP.
