The Fact India: Preparations are underway to evacuate 700 Indian students from Canada. Canada’s border service agency CBSA has issued letters of deportation to 700 Indian students. According to CBSA, the admission letters of these students are fake. It was only through them that these students took admission in many universities. India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has said that the students are innocent. Government of Canada should take action against the real culprits. Following the announcement by the Canadian government, around 700 students from India have sat on a dharna outside the CBSA headquarters and near the Mississauga airport. Most of these students are from Punjab province.
Jagmeet Singh, leader of the New Democratic Party in the Parliament of Canada, sought an answer from PM Trudeau in this regard. Trudeau said in Parliament that we want to identify the culprits and punish them. No action will be taken against any victim. We will give him full opportunity to present his case and evidence related to it. International students are the capital of our country. They play an important role in the development of Canada.
According to Canadian media reports, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government in Canada has decided to send the students back to India. At the same time, due to the fear of being deported, these students are protesting across the country. In the matter, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that this issue of students has been coming for some time. If there are people who misled them, action should be taken against the guilty parties. It is wrong to punish a student who is studying with good intentions. I think Canada also believes that it is wrong to punish a student if he has not done anything wrong.
In fact, the students allege that the agents through whom they came to Canada have committed fraud. These agents first take money and then give fake documents to the students. After this, on the pretext of seats being full in the university, they get admission to the students in other universities. After completing the degree, many students apply for citizenship only to find that their documents are falsified.
