Arvind Kejriwal On Congress: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sent a third message to the Congress regarding support against the Centre’s ordinance. Even before this, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had sought time to meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Rahul Gandhi. Kejriwal is constantly meeting leaders of opposition parties to garner support against the Centre’s ordinance.
He met Congress ally in the south DMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday (June 1). Kejriwal said after this meeting that I thank CM Stalin for such a warm welcome. I thank MK Stalin ji for supporting us against this undemocratic ordinance. I have also sought an appointment with Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, but no response has come from their side yet.
“We hope Congress will support”
Kejriwal said that we hope that the Congress will also support us against this undemocratic ordinance. The discussion of a joint opposition for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections can be worked out in the scheduled meeting. He said that after a long struggle of 8 years, Delhi won with the Supreme Court order, which gave full control over the bureaucrats to the elected government.
“We have the support of DMK”
The Delhi Chief Minister alleged that the Center brought an unconstitutional ordinance to nullify the Supreme Court’s order. If all non-BJP parties come together, we can defeat this bill in Rajya Sabha, where BJP has only 93/238 seats. This will be a strong message for 2024. I have come to Stalin ji to seek support and I am happy to say that we have the support of DMK. Kejriwal has earlier met several prominent opposition leaders including Mamta Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar.
