India-Bangladesh: India’s relations with neighboring Bangladesh have strengthened in recent times. China, which tries to lure Bangladesh in its favor by luring it with money, will come under tension. Because India’s Army Chief Manoj Pandey is going to Bangladesh on a two-day visit. There will be talks on the strengthening of defense relations between the two countries, which will be displeasing to China.
Army Chief General Manoj Pande will discuss expanding bilateral defense and security ties during his visit to Bangladesh. Along with this, there will be a discussion with the top military officials of Bangladesh regarding the opportunities to find new ways for this. This is General Pandey’s second visit to Bangladesh as Army Chief. He had visited Bangladesh in July last year on his first foreign trip after assuming the top post.
Will inspect passing out parade in Chittagong
“During the visit, the army chief will meet senior military leaders of Bangladesh and discuss ways to further strengthen India-Bangladesh defense ties,” the army said. Gen Pandey will inspect the passing out parade of cadet officers of the 84th ‘Long Course’ of Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) in Chittagong on Tuesday. During the parade, the Chief of Army Staff will present the ‘Bangladesh-India Friendship Trophy’ to the outstanding foreign cadets from friendly countries passing out course of BMA.
The trophy is in lieu of the ‘Bangladesh Trophy and Medal’ awarded at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun in December 2021 for the Outstanding Foreign Cadet Passing Out Course, the army said in a statement. The Army Chief will inspect the Passing Out Parade at IMA, Dehradun on 10 June and present Bangladesh Medals and Trophies. The Bangladesh army chief had visited India in April this year and inspected the passing out parade at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai.
