Bilateral defense cooperation between India and Germany is about to reach a new height. After the preparation of the blueprint for the purchase of 6 destroyer submarines from Germany, now both the countries are going to adopt a very aggressive approach in the Indo-Pacific region. India and Germany together in the Indo-Pacific region will now completely destroy the hegemony of China. Germany’s industry is in a “good place” in the race for India’s project to buy six stealth submarines, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on Tuesday after talks with his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh. The talks focused on joint development of major military platforms and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. Officials familiar with the talks said the Indian side briefed Pistorius about China’s aggression along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and New Delhi’s apprehensions over the possible risks of Pakistan receiving critical defense technologies from Western countries.
After the talks, Pistorius told reporters that Berlin’s strategic relationship with New Delhi has become more important in the context of the unpredictable situation in the Indo-Pacific region. The remarks came amid growing global concerns over China’s increasing military aggression in the region. He also indicated Germany’s approach to further strengthen defense ties with India. He said New Delhi looked to Russia in view of Europe’s reluctance to arm India. Highlighting the need for a new approach on defense ties with India, Pistorius said, “We are now realizing that Russia’s star is going down.” He said, “Of course we also talked about the war between Russia and Ukraine. It is trying very hard to significantly and quickly reduce the dependency which currently stands at 60 per cent.
Germany said will further strengthen partnership with India in the Indo-Pacific region
Regarding the situation in the Indo-Pacific region, Pistorius said Germany and Europe focused too much on economic ties with China without paying enough attention to the political implications. According to the Defense Ministry, in talks with Pistorius, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized that India and Germany can build a “more vibrant” defense relationship based on shared goals. “I think we should do more in that region (the Indo-Pacific) in partnership with India because we are getting closer to a time when we really can’t predict,” Pistorius told the media in German. Can predict what is going to happen in the next few years.
He added, “And we need strategic partners like India and Indonesia.” is in a “good place”. ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) company is set to bid for the Rs 43,000 crore project. The German Defense Minister said, “We are talking about a deal for TKMS.
