Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani was made the new chairman of the board after a two-day meeting in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Let us inform that earlier Maulana Rabe Hasani Nadvi was the chairman of the board, who died on 13 April 2023 after a long illness. Since then the chair of the chairman of the board had become vacant. Now the members of AIMPLB have unanimously elected Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani as the new president.
Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani is one of the founding members of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board. He was earlier working as the General Secretary of the Board. He was appointed acting General Secretary in April 2021 after the death of former General Secretary Maulana Wali Rahmani. After this, he was made permanent General Secretary in Jalsa-e-Aam in Kanpur in November 2021 itself.

Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani is the fifth president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board. The board was established in 1973 and its first chairman was Maulana Mohammad Tayyab. Ali Miyan was appointed as the second president and Maulana Qazi Mujahidul Islam Qasmi was elected as the third president. Maulana Rabe Hasani Nadvi was the fourth president of AIMPLB. He was the President of the Muslim Personal Law Board for 21 consecutive years from June 2002. He died on 13 April 2023, after which Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani has now got this responsibility.
What is All India Muslim Personal Law Board?
All India Muslim Personal Law Board is considered to be the most powerful organization of Muslims. According to the website of AIMPLB, it was established on 7-8 April 1973. It was established at a time when the Government of India was trying to abolish Sharia law applicable to Indian Muslims through Uniform Civil Law. That is, its purpose is to protect the personal law of the Muslim community in the country and to put their issues before the government. Please inform that AIMPLB has 251 members. Its founding members include 102 people. The board consists of 149 ordinary members, for whom elections are held every 3 years.
