BMW India has today (Thursday, June 8) launched the second generation BMW M2 in India at a starting price of Rs 98 lakh (Delhi, ex-showroom). The car reaches the speed of 100 KMPH in 4.1 seconds. Its top speed is 250 KMPH.
The company has started booking the two-door high-performance sports car. The company will soon start the delivery of the car. The car has been launched in two variants in the Indian market. The Delhi ex-showroom price of the petrol automatic variant of the all-new BMW M2 is Rs 98 lakh.
Buyers can buy the manual transmission variant by paying Rs 1 lakh more (₹99 lakh). The car is available in 5 color options – Alpine White Solid, M Zandvoort Blue Solid, Black Sapphire Metallic, M Toronto Red Metallic and M Brooklyn Gray Metallic.
Buyers will be able to customize the sports car
The BMW M2 is imported into India as a completely built unit. Limited units of the car will be sold in India. As per media reports, some pre-specced units of the M2 have already arrived in the country and are available for delivery. However, buyers can also get the M2 customized as per their choice.
BMW M2: Performance
The second generation BMW M2 is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged, 6-cylinder in-line petrol engine, which generates 460 HP of power and 550 NM of peak torque. This engine is tuned with 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine is also available in BMW M3 and BMW M4.
BMW claims that the new M2 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds with the automatic gearbox and 4.3 seconds with the manual gearbox. The top speed of the car is 250 KMPH.
