Wrestlers Protest: Famous wrestlers of the country are sitting on a dharna over allegations of sexual exploitation against Wrestling Federation President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Monday (May 1) is the 9th day of the players’ strike. Describing the allegations against him as false, Brij Bhushan has accused the players of conspiracy that they want to take over the wrestling federation. Wrestler Vinesh Phogat has said that Brij Bhushan’s ego is bigger than Ravana.
Speaking on the allegations, wrestler Bajrang Punia said that until Brij Bhushan is cleared of the allegations, the media should not give him a platform to speak. Players win medals for the country and he is questioning those who win medals. How many people become MPs and how many people win Olympic medals in this country? Till date there are hardly 40 Olympic medalists, while thousands have become MPs.
On April 23, renowned wrestlers of the country started a sit-in at Jantar Mantar on the allegations of sexual abuse against Brij Bhushan Singh. Earlier in January also the wrestlers were sitting on a dharna, but after the formation of an oversight committee by the Sports Ministry, the strike was called off. Wrestlers have again started protest without alleging any action against Brijbhushan.

On Sunday (April 30), following the direction of the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police provided security to women wrestlers who complained against Brij Bhushan Singh. Earlier on April 28, after the hearing in the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police had registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at the Connaught Place police station. In this, on the complaint of a minor wrestler, a case has also been registered against Singh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). 7 women wrestlers had filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding the registration of an FIR against Brij Bhushan Singh on the allegations of sexual exploitation.
Brijbhushan told the conspiracy
Brij Bhushan has accused the conspiracy of Congress MPs Deepender Hooda and Bajrang Punia behind the performance of the wrestlers. Brij Bhushan Singh said, “The whole conspiracy was hatched by Congress leader Deepender Hooda and wrestler Bajrang Punia. We have an audio clip, which will prove it. We will give it to the Delhi Police when the time comes.” It also said that Priyanka Gandhi has supported the wrestlers without understanding the matter, when she comes to know the truth, she too will repent.
