THe Fact India: The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain for 42 days (six weeks). While giving interim relief till July 11, the Supreme Court said that keeping in view Jain’s health, he should be released. During this he will not go out of Delhi. However, on June 10, he will have to appear in the court again. Satyendra got this bail after 360 days of his arrest.
During the hearing, the Supreme Court said that we allow Satyendar Jain to get treated in a private hospital. Jain will not influence any witness. He will not go out of Delhi without the permission of the court. Whatever treatment is being done, its documents should be presented before the court. The Supreme Court said to get treatment for 6 weeks. Neither will we make statements nor will we leave Delhi nor will we meet the witnesses.
Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi on behalf of Satyendar Jain and ASG Raju on behalf of ED presented arguments in the Supreme Court. Satyendar Jain was arrested by the ED on May 31 last year. Earlier on May 18, the Supreme Court had issued a notice to the ED seeking its reply. Jain is in custody since May 31, 2022. He appealed to the Supreme Court after the bail plea was rejected by the Delhi High Court on April 6.
On the morning of 25 May, AAP leader Satyendar Jain slipped and fell in the washroom of Tihar Jail. He was admitted to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital in the morning. After his condition deteriorated around 12 noon, he was shifted to Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (NNJP) and put on oxygen support. This was the third time in a week that Jain had been brought to the hospital. Earlier on May 22, he was taken to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi itself. Then he had problems with his spine. On May 20 also, he was brought to Deen Dayal Hospital due to the same problem.
