Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023: After the victory in Karnataka, now the Congress is fully in action mode regarding the assembly elections to be held in other states. Before the assembly elections to be held at the end of the year, the Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan seems to be painted in religious colours.
In fact, the Devasthan Department of the state government has decided to hoist yellow flags in all government temples of the state on the auspicious occasion of Guru-Pushya. It was started on Thursday (May 25) from Kalki Mandir located at Badi Chaupar in Jaipur.
What did the minister say on hoisting the yellow flag?
Devasthan department minister Shakuntala Rawat said, “Flag hoisting has a different significance. The flag is hoisted on top of a temple only because the flag of peace and prosperity should be hoisted. Similarly, there should be prosperity in the entire state. Om is a symbol of power and the sun is light. Surya is such a deity whom we can see in person.
Trying to strengthen the image of Hindutva
This is not the first time that the Gehlot government has tried to strengthen its image of equality of all religions. Even before this, CM Ashok Gehlot had made many big announcements in the budget for the development of many famous religious places of the state. Among these, decisions like development of Jaipur’s Govind Dev Ji temple on the lines of Ujjain’s Mahakal temple, 50 per cent discount on bus fare at Sawariya Seth fair on Jaljhulni Ekadashi in Chittorgarh, development of Beneshwardham and Mangarh Dham are important.
