New Parliament Inauguration: The country has got a new parliament, politics continues. In the editorial of Saamana, the mouthpiece of Uddhav faction, Shiv Sena has once again raised questions on the inauguration of the new Parliament House. While attacking the Modi government, Saamana has compared the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
It has been said in Saamana that since the arrival of Modi Raj in Delhi, the functioning of the Parliament almost remains closed. During Pandit Nehru’s time, the work of the Lok Sabha used to run for at least 140 days in a year. Now it does not last even for 50 days. Why a grand parliament building worth one thousand crores for a parliament that cannot be run again?
Saamana further said, Prime Minister Nehru spent most of his time being present in both houses of the Parliament, listening to the speeches of the leaders of the opposition. Nehru was also regularly present in the question and answer period and used to answer many questions of the members himself. Prime Minister Modi was never present in the question and answer period and there was no question of answering the questions. He kept running away from the discussion. All subjects were discussed in the Parliament then and the Prime Minister used to encourage the discussion. Today, when the opposition demands a discussion on the issue of bottlenecks, the Parliament is closed by the ruling party itself. Stepmotherly treatment is meted out to the members on the opposing benches. This is not a picture of democracy.
‘The world feels that Modi has changed’
Uddhav faction Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece said- The President would have inaugurated the new Parliament House, accompanied by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, with Prime Minister Modi in the middle and Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge on his right, such a picture of that democracy. Had it been seen in the temple, Modi’s greatness would not have diminished. If Modi had done all this, then the world would have felt that Modi has changed, but if he changes his nature, he is like Modi? Modi behaves like Modi. He behaved like that. Not the President, not the Vice President, not the Leader of the Opposition. Lok Sabha Speaker Birla was kept with him under compulsion. ‘The new Parliament House is being inaugurated…’ Someone is needed to make such an invitation. So that’s why Om Birla Saheb was there, this is the whole business.
‘Locked the parliament on which he shed tears’
Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana said- When Modi became the Prime Minister of the country in 2014, he himself declared that ‘the Constitution of the country is the only holy book’. Our government will respect that holy book. When Modi entered the Parliament for the first time before sitting on the post of Prime Minister, being very emotional, he bowed down on the steps of the Parliament and shed tears. I will protect the sanctity of this Parliament, I will give equal justice to all and for that I will strengthen the Parliament, this is what his mind must be saying to him, but in just eight years, he locked the same Parliament and built a new Parliament building as per his wish. The inauguration ceremony was organized on the lines of a Maharaj in the Vastu of his palace.
The editorial further said – President, Vice President, Speaker of Lok Sabha and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha were invisible from this temple of democracy, then who was present in that inauguration ceremony? The celebration of the new parliament building was full of those who gave importance to superstition and rituals while tearing knowledge, science and technology to pieces. The scepter has also arrived now. Meaning in a way now the monarchy has started. In the name of democracy, the new emperor’s scepter has reached Delhi.
‘One thousand crore palace of Lahari Raja’
In the editorial of mouthpiece Saamana, PM Modi has been addressed with the word ‘Lahari Raja’. It has been said that Modi came in the circle of people who do not believe in science and reforms, he performed rituals. Call it Hindutva or coronation ceremony? There is faith in Hinduism, not superstition. What form of Indian Parliament are we showing to the world? The President was not invited, but innumerable monks and nuns were invited to the Vastu Shanti of the new Parliament House. One thousand crore ‘palace’ was built for the sake of Lahari Raja’s wish and due to this democracy itself was exiled, this will be recorded in history.
‘If Rajdharma is not followed in the country, then what is the use of the scepter?’
PM Modi inaugurated the new Parliament House after installing the historic ‘Sengol’ near the Lok Sabha Speaker’s chair. Questions have been raised on this Sengol in Saamana. It has been written in the editorial that Modi established Sengol i.e. the scepter in the Lok Sabha, but if the rajdharma is not followed in the affairs of the country, then what is the use of that scepter of beauty? During the period of Modi government, public sector undertakings, airports, ports in the country were all handed over to Modi’s friends. Stories circulated about Modi’s friend Adani looting the country, but the parliament was closed as soon as the opposition parties demanded a discussion on that loot.
Further said- Modi’s industrialist friends will be handed over to run this new parliament. There is an atmosphere of fear in the country today. Those whom the government is afraid of, the police and ED reach their homes and they are arrested. There is no facility in the Parliament to raise voice against this oppression. Then of what use is the new palace of Parliament?
‘If there is no freedom of speech, don’t call it a temple of democracy’
Uddhav faction Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana said that by locking the historic Parliament, Prime Minister Modi got a grand new Parliament building constructed on the lines of his personal architecture. There will be no freedom of speech in that palace, so don’t call it a temple of democracy. In that palace, the government will not be allowed to ask sharp questions, then take down the board of ‘Satyamev Jayate’. If there are those who stop roaring on national issues in that palace, then cover the ‘Indian symbol’ of three lions from the dome of the Parliament. Keep doing it!
It was further said that the new parliament building does not mean the emperor’s palace. He is the symbol of the hopes and aspirations of the country. It is not just a carved building made of stone, brick, sand. The five lives of the country’s democracy are contained in that building. We are prostrating to that temple! Modi behaved according to his nature. The country has to fulfill its duty.
