Anti Open Burning Campaign: Kejriwal government is going to start an anti open burning campaign in Delhi for a month from May 15 under the Summer Action Plan to reduce the problem of pollution in summer. Under this campaign, 231 patrolling teams of 7 departments will be deployed during the day and 186 patrolling teams at night. Along with this, instructions have also been issued to DPCC and MCD for 24-hour strict monitoring of landfill sites.
The campaign will run from May 15 to June 15
Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the Summer Action Plan was announced on May 1 to deal with the problem of pollution in the summer season. On the basis of this, the concerned departments have started working seriously to implement it on the ground. Moving in this direction, under the Summer Action Plan, it has been decided to start the Anti Open Burning Campaign in Delhi from May 15.
This campaign will be run for a whole month i.e. from 15th May to 15th June in Delhi. Under this campaign, 231 patrolling teams of 665 personnel from 7 departments will be deployed during the day and 186 patrolling teams of 564 personnel at night for surveillance in entire Delhi. These teams will work for 24 hours to monitor and stop the incidents of open burning in Delhi.
Instructions were given to take special vigilance
The report of this monitoring will be given to the Environment Department from time to time. Along with this, instructions have been given to Delhi Fire Service and Forest Department to take special vigilance in this context. Gopal Rai further informed that an SOP has also been prepared to prevent incidents of fire at landfill sites.
He said that instructions have been given to strictly implement this SOP, so that incidents of fire at landfill sites can be prevented. Along with this, to prevent incidents of fire at landfill sites, DPCC and MCD have been instructed to continuously monitor the sites.
Special attention will be given to landfill sites.

Environment Minister Gopal Rai told that out of 14 points, two immediate action plans ‘Anti Dust Campaign and Anti Open Burning Campaign’ have been prepared under the Summer Action Plan. Which have also been ordered to be strictly implemented in the whole of Delhi. Through this campaign, the pollution in the summer season in Delhi will be reduced to a great extent.
