Sharad Pawar PC: Sharad Pawar has withdrawn his resignation from the post of National President of NCP. He announced at the press conference on Friday, “I cannot insult your feelings. I have become emotional and am withdrawing my decision.” NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said that on May 2, I had decided to resign from the post of NCP President. It seemed that after my many years of service, I have to retire.
Pawar said that after this many NCP workers and office bearers felt sad. My well-wishers and workers and loved ones urged me to reconsider this decision. With this, the workers asked me to take back the post of president again. People’s sentiments cannot be disrespected from my side.
Sharad Pawar further said that I have become emotional from all this, after everyone’s call and senior leaders of NCP and considering everyone’s feelings, I withdraw my decision to step down from the post of National President of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) . I am accepting the post of president again. NCP workers celebrate outside YB Chavan Center in Mumbai after Sharad Pawar announced to take back the post of President.
He said that in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections, many people requested me, in which leaders of many national parties are also included. On the question of successor, Sharad Pawar said that all those sitting here can handle the country. It is too late for them to get a chance. On retirement, Sharad Pawar said that I had full apprehension that if I discuss all this, these people will not allow me to do so. Because of which I had to give my verdict in this way.
When asked about the absence of Ajit Pawar in the press conference, Sharad Pawar said that not everyone can be present in a press conference. Some people are here and some others are not. The committee took this decision and after their decision, I took back my decision. This morning the senior leaders of the party took a unanimous decision and informed me about it. Everyone expressed their feelings through that decision. That’s why it is not right to raise the question that who is present here and who is not or to find its meaning. There are senior leaders in the committee. Everyone is united and discussing it.
Significantly, on May 2, Sharad Pawar surprised everyone by announcing his resignation from the post of NCP president. Pawar had formed a committee to choose the new president of the party. In which his nephew Ajit Pawar, daughter Supriya Sule, former Union Minister Praful Patel and Chhagan Bhujbal were included.
After his announcement, NCP workers protested strongly. Along with this, many office bearers had also resigned from their posts. Seeing the opposition of the workers, Pawar had asked for two-four days time to consider his decision.
