The Fact India: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that illegal colonies will be legalized by December 2022. Shivraj Singh said in the CM House on Tuesday that I believe that when these colonies were being built, attention should have been paid whether they were becoming legal or illegal. The Chief Minister said that now if the illegal colony is cut, the departmental officers will be responsible. Earlier it was decided to legalize the colonies built till December 2016, which will be revised to the year 2022.
In the CM House, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh said that what is the fault of our brothers and sisters? Bought the plot by investing the capital of life. Building a house by adding pie-pie. The house was built, then the government came and said – this is illegal. This is not justice. Illegal means have we become criminals. The decision to declare illegal is illegal. I end this decision. All the illegal colonies in Madhya Pradesh are legalized till December 2022.
The Chief Minister made this announcement on the demand of Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh. Singh put forth two more demands that 20 per cent development fee should not be taken from the poor in these colonies. House maps will be passed. CM Shivraj said that I agree with Bhupendra ji. We are development men. Developmental government. That’s why development fee will not be charged for sale and purchase.
Shivraj Singh said that funds will be provided for development in regular colonies on the basis of availability. Will provide facilities of electricity, water, roads. The houses built as they are will be accepted. The Chief Minister launched the scheme to legalize 6077 (up to December 2016) illegal colonies in the state at a function held at the CM House. In the first phase, building permission was given to 1122 colonies. Rest of the cities got connected virtually with this program of CM.
