Abhilash Mishra / Indore: Today is World Thalassemia Day. The increasing disease of thalassemia in children is a matter of concern, the condition of children who suffer from thalassemia becomes pathetic. Government, administration and various social organizations continuously work for such children from their level.
According to the report of the National Health Mission, at least Rs 1 crore is spent on the treatment of a Thalassemia patient in 50 years. Dr. Manish Singh Gurjar explains that this disease is hereditary. In such a situation, children from infancy to adolescence are most affected by it. Therefore, in this modern age, a provision has been made that apart from the birth chart, the medical history should also be matched at the time of marriage, so that such dreadful disease can be avoided.
It was further told that for the children who are already suffering from this disease, treatment is the only solution. If we want to treat it by adopting only one method, then we may have to worry more. But if we try to treat this disease by including all methods, then we can get better results in future. Bone marrow transplant is very expensive in India, so normal and middle class people are not able to adopt it and blood transfusion remains the last resort for them.
Bone marrow transplant only works
If the governments work in this favor and make bone marrow transplant cheaper, then it is possible that in the coming future there will be at least the number of deaths due to this thalassemia disease. Bone marrow transplant is considered the best and effective method for the treatment of thalassemia. According to statistics, after bone marrow transplant in the treatment of thalassemia, 80 to 90% people move towards recovery.
