Indian Army: It has now been decided to bring a uniform uniform for officers of the rank of Brigadier and above, irrespective of the parent cadre and appointment in the Indian Army. Sources say that this decision has been taken after detailed deliberations during the recently concluded army commanders’ conference. However, there will be no change in the uniform of officers of the rank of Colonel and below.
According to sources, the headgear, shoulder rank badge, gorget patch, belt and footwear of senior officers of flag rank (Brigadier and above) will now be uniform. Flag-rank officers will no longer wear any lanyard. The changes will come into effect from August 1 this year. The uniform worn by officers of the rank of Colonel and below in the Indian Army will remain the same as before.
