London | Scotland’s Edinburgh University has partnered with the Indian Consulate in the UK to launch its first open access course in the Hindi language. The Climate Solutions course is curated with the help of skilled translators, and is the result of a collaboration between the Government of India and the University of Edinburgh Climate Change Institute.
The course has been designed by award-winning climate change experts including Professor Dave Ray, Executive Director of the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute (ECCI).
Edinburgh University said in a release that the course on Climate Solutions in Hindi covers the science, effects and solutions to India’s climate change.
It has been a real pleasure to work in partnership with the Consulate General of India, with whom we have a great link, to develop this new open access climate change course,’ Ray said in a statement. Many thanks to the online course development team in Edinburgh and our colleagues at the Indian Consulate in Edinburgh for creating this important new course.
In a statement, the university claimed that the increased access to courses with additional languages will prove to be a milestone for the university.
The five-week course focuses on different climatic zones across India and how changes in the zones can affect the country’s health, agriculture and economy.
The course is also available in English and Arabic, and new versions are planned for Senegal, Malawi, Ecuador and Mexico in the future.
