BJP MP from Kaisarganj, Uttar Pradesh, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, in his clarification, has talked about handing over some video evidence and mobile data to the Delhi Police. He will soon present it before the Delhi Police.
Earlier on Thursday (May 11, 2023), a minor female wrestler recorded her statement before the magistrate. On the other hand, the wrestlers protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar since April 23, 2023 alleged that the police is taking slow action in the matter.
Sakshi Malik, a wrestler who staged the protest said that along with all the 7 women wrestlers who made the allegations, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh should be subjected to a narco test and whoever is found guilty should be hanged immediately.
Meanwhile, the wrestlers have once again accused the government. Bajrang Punia said that the number of wrestlers protesting is being tracked. Punia said, “Nowadays our phone numbers are being spied on. We are being treated as if we have committed a crime. Whoever is in contact with us is being spied on.”
Let us inform that the wrestlers staged a sit-in in January this year, when they alleged sexual harassment and demanded an inquiry. Then he did not register an FIR with the police. After investigation, the committee gave its report. After that, from 23rd April the wrestlers again sat on dharna at Jantar Mantar.
First he said that the Delhi Police is not writing his report regarding sexual abuse. After this he went to the Supreme Court and after the order of the Supreme Court, two FIRs were registered against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. After this, the wrestlers put forward their demand that the WFI Chief should leave the post of President as well as the membership of the Parliament.
However, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh flatly denied this and said that MP is not given to these wrestlers, which they will leave if asked by them. Along with this, he had also said that once the case is registered against him, he will not resign from his post as an accused.
After this the wrestlers are adamant on demanding his immediate arrest and are sitting on a dharna at Jantar Mantar. He also sought support from the Khaps of the Jat community. In return, Khap leaders and farmer leaders also came there. During this, objectionable slogans like ‘Modi teri kabr khudegi’ and ‘Hume chaiye azadi’ were raised.
