Congress leader Ajay Maken: Center and Delhi government are at loggerheads over the power of transfer-posting of Delhi officials. The central government has issued an ordinance regarding transfer-posting of officers of Delhi. Meanwhile, Congress leader Ajay Maken on Sunday (May 21) advised CM Arvind Kejriwal to learn from former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Former Union Minister Maken has said in a long post written on Twitter that “officers do not side with anyone, officers offer tea and pakoras when needed and stand together when needed.” Ajay Maken wrote, “Interact with the officials respectfully, talk to them and persuade them for the development of Delhi. If you are honest, they will obviously relate to your thinking.”
‘Kejriwal made officials wait for hours’
Ajay Maken said, “Kejriwal called the officials and made them wait for hours, used harsh words.” Maken said, “It is important to know that such behavior will only create trouble for Delhi.”
‘Transport commissioner was changed’
In fact, in the story narrated by Ajay Maken on Twitter, the Transport Commissioner was changed without the knowledge of the then Transport Minister Maken and the then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. This was done under the orders of the then Lieutenant Governor, LG did not change his decision. Maken said he was very worried as the transport commissioner was transferred in the midst of the CNG initiative in Delhi.
‘Then they’ll stop taking us seriously’
Delhi Transport Minister Ajay Maken said that Sheila Dikshit refused him when he wanted to “highlight this politically generated decision through a press conference”. Don’t tell anyone. The authorities shouldn’t know that we tried and didn’t succeed. If the authorities come to know, they might stop taking us seriously.”
Ajay Maken recalled what Sheila Dikshit had said, “Call the new officer. Tell him that you are happy with the appointment of the Chief Minister. Explain the importance of CNG to him and invite him for tea and pakodas. are not with. Deal with them tactfully.”
