Ashok Gehlot Vs Sachin Pilot: Tension is increasing between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot. Sachin Pilot started the Jan Sangharsh Padyatra on Thursday (May 11), breaking away from the party’s stand. After his move, a Congress meeting was held in Delhi on Friday (May 12).
Apart from Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Randhawa, State Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasara and All India Congress Committee secretaries Kazi Nizamuddin, Virendra Rathore and Amrita Dhawan, who are co-in-charges for the state, were present in the meeting.
After the meeting, Randhawa said that this is a personal visit of the pilot. He said, “We are keeping an eye on the yatra. We will discuss this with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge when he returns to Delhi from Karnataka. We will put our point before him (Kharge).
Meaning of Sachin Pilot’s journey
Sachin Pilot’s move is being seen as an attempt to put pressure on Ashok Gehlot and the Congress leadership. Pilot has been continuously saying that Gehlot has not taken any action in the last four years against the alleged corruption during Vasundhara Raje’s government.
Describing his five-day yatra as a ‘people’s struggle padyatra against corruption’, Pilot says that this yatra is being taken out to ‘raise your voice, listen to your voice and become the voice of the public’. There are assembly elections in Rajasthan at the end of this year, so in such a situation, it is believed that due to the tussle between Pilot and Gehlot, the difficulty of the Congress may increase.
