Prachanda will visit India for the first time after becoming PM
This will be Prachanda’s first foreign trip after taking over as prime minister for the third time in December last year. Sources in the Ministry of External Affairs said that the visit will take place from May 31 to May 3 and the ministry will make a formal announcement on Saturday. Foreign Minister NP Soud’s associate official said, ‘The Ministry of External Affairs will make a formal announcement on the official visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on Saturday. The India tour of ‘Prachanda’ has been postponed thrice due to various reasons.
The visit will be from May 31 to June 3 and he will hold other high-level meetings apart from meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The preparations for the yatra are in the final stages,” the official said. Meanwhile, Nepal’s Ambassador to India Shankar Prasad Sharma met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in New Delhi this week and discussed Prachanda’s upcoming visit. Significantly, Nepal’s PM Prachanda’s visit to India was postponed for a long time. There is such a tradition that whoever becomes the PM of Nepal, first visits India.
