Local people are agitated in Jhajjar, Haryana. Reason – Wrestler Bajrang Punia has been allotted 4 acres of land in Bhapdauda village here. Let us inform that Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal in the 2020 Olympic Games held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, but in recent months he has been involved in protests by wrestlers. Bajrang Punia has taken this 4 acres of land from the government in the name of making ‘Wrestlers Academy’. Now the local people have come on the road against it.
The villagers say that this land has been allotted illegally. He also claimed that the ‘Panchayat Committee’ is also involved in this illegal allotment. In fact, the villagers say that there are already many players in the village who have played at the international level, apart from ‘Arjuna Award’ winners, but despite this land was given to Bajrang Punia. Actually the Panchayat Secretary here represents the government.
He says that the Panchayat Secretary is also involved in this illegal land allotment. The villagers demand that a detailed inquiry be started, that too within a week. He has also talked about complaining about this to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Along with this, it has also been talked about knocking the door from the High Court to the Supreme Court if needed. He said that he will not be allowed to build Wrestlers Academy here at any cost.

Not only this, a member of the Gram Panchayat has also alleged fraud in the allotment of land. They say that the meeting was called on some other issue, but everyone was asked to sign some documents. The said panchayat member told that it was a paper for allotment of 4 acres of land to Bajrang Poonia, after reading which he refused to sign. Bajrang Punia had demanded land up to 5 acres.
The panchayat member told that when he talked to his seniors in this regard, they were very happy. The villagers were told that their children would get training in this wrestler’s academy for free, so they also agreed. Another big thing is that this land belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community, which is used for agriculture. It is being said that these Dalit families depend on the same land for their livelihood, in which case their condition will become pathetic.
In the end, also tell that till now the legal seal has not been given on the allotment of land. Pramod, the representative of the sarpanch of the village, is also accused. It is being told that he has done this in personal relations. A complaint has been lodged with the district administration in this regard. One Panch alleged that this is being done by killing the rights of Dalits. The District Appropriate Officer also told that the people of Bhapdauda village had come to him with a complaint. He said that the truth will come out after the investigation.
