The time span of people on Instagram has increased by 24% due to AI-generated reels (short videos). Meta on Wednesday announced its 2023 first quarter (Q1) results for its platforms. During this, Zuckerberg shared information related to the engagement of Facebook and Instagram.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that ever since Meta launched short video app Reels in competition to TikTok, AI recommendations have increased people’s time span on Instagram. Reels created on both Facebook and Instagram are growing rapidly.
Reels being shared over 2 billion times every day
Zuckerberg said that Reels are becoming more social now, as people are sharing these Reels more than 2 billion times every day, and this figure has doubled in the last 6 months. Reels are driving the overall engagement of the app and we believe we are gaining share in short-form videos as well.
Instagram rolled out new feature
Meta added a new feature to Instagram on April 18. In this, users started the facility to add 5 links in their bio. Earlier, users were able to add only one link in their bio.
However, without this feature many people add more than one link in bio through third party service ‘Linktree’. Linktree gives its users the option to create a webpage with multiple URLs (links). After this, users add the link of that webpage to the bio of Instagram.
All 5 links will be visible in Instagram only
All the links added in bio through Linktree are not visible in Instagram, but after this feature now all 5 links will be visible in Instagram. However, if someone visits your Instagram profile, they will not see all the links. Profile visitor will see an option of ‘Others’ with a link. By clicking on it, the visitor will see all the links added by you.
