There is also a POCSO Act in this. After the registration of the FIR, the Chief of the Wrestling Federation has given a big statement regarding his resignation. Welcoming the decision of the Supreme Court, Singh said that he is ready to resign.
Talking to Zee News, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said that he welcomes the decision of the Supreme Court. He said that he is not raising any questions on the investigation of Delhi Police. On the question of the demand for the resignation of the wrestlers, the BJP leader said that if these players end their strike with my resignation, go home, practice, then I will resign. However, he said that his term has been completed and he will automatically resign with the next election. Till the new elections, he is only playing the role of caretaker.
Brijbhushan Sharan Singh raised questions on the allegations
Along with this, the Wrestling Federation President questioned the players, calling the allegations wrong. He said that wrong was happening to them from 2012 to 2023, but neither complained about it to the Sports Ministry, nor to the police station, nor to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), suddenly in the month of January, the players went to Jantar Mantar with a direct complaint. Arrived. The BJP MP said that if he had gone to the police station in January instead of today, an FIR would have been lodged against him at the same time.
He further said that now the matter is in the cognizance of the Supreme Court. We have full respect for the judiciary. We have no question on the interpretation of the Delhi Police. Earlier also when the Oversight Committee was formed, we did not ask any questions. Even when the IOA committee was formed, we had no questions and even today I have no questions.
A family and players of an arena
On the question of Haryana vs UP, the BJP leader said that the players of Haryana are not angry with us. Singh told that all the players who are protesting belong to the same family and the same akhada. He questioned that children from Haryana and other states also live in the camp. Why such an incident did not happen to any child of the country. Why did this happen only with them? He also said that instead of going to the sports ministry, police station or media to complain about an incident, they go to Jantar Mantar.
