According to a BBC report, if a 41-year-old man named Jonathan Jacob Meijer tries to donate sperm again, he could be fined more than 100,000 euros (Rs 90,41,657). Along with this, they can be punished severely. This Dutch person has already been banned.
Misled hundreds of women
The Donorkind Foundation and a Dutch woman petitioned the court to prevent Jacob from donating more sperm. Now a court in The Hague has taken a tough stand on this person. The court has asked Jacob for a list of all the clinics to which he has donated sperm. Also, the court has asked those clinics to destroy Jacob’s sperm. The court believes that Jacob has misled hundreds of women. The woman who filed the petition has welcomed the court’s decision.
The lawyer said – helped by donating sperm
The lawyer of the person who donated the sperm said that his client has only helped people unable to conceive in a way. There is nothing wrong in this. However, the court held that Jacob deliberately lied to the parents in order to use his sperm.
In 2017 became the father of more than a hundred children
In fact, in 2017 it was claimed that Jonathan Jacob Meijer has become the father of more than 100 children. He was then banned from donating sperm to fertility clinics in the Netherlands in 2017. However, this person found a different way to donate sperm. Jacob kept donating sperm online.
There are special rules for donating sperm in the Netherlands. Here the clinical guidelines state that a sperm donor should not father more than 25 children in 12 families. But in Jacob’s case, the court admitted that the man had helped produce 550 to 600 children since he started donating sperm in 2007. It is against the rules.
