US software and technology provider Saber Corporation and airline Air India have entered into a multi-year deal. Now travel agents and corporations will be able to access Air India’s fares and seats through SABER’s global travel marketplace. Although how much this deal has been done, it has not been disclosed.
Deal is part of expansion plan
This deal is part of Air India’s expansion plan. The airline had recently placed the largest order in aviation history for 470 aircraft. The airline will also use Sabre’s consultancy expertise to improve its services.
Deal includes detailed planning of route network
The deal will include in-depth evaluation, development of new hubs, structural design and detailed planning of the route network. Air India’s Chief Commercial and Transformation Officer Nipun Agarwal said that the Indian travel market has returned strong.
Deal will help in becoming more competitive
Aggarwal said the deal would help Air India become more competitive on the global aviation platform. Air India recently announced its five-year transformation plan called Vihaan.AI. Under this plan, the airline is expanding its fleet and network.
American company provides Saber technology
Saber, an American company started in 1960, is a leading software and technology company. This company provides technology to airlines, hoteliers and agencies. The company provides mobile apps, airport check-in kiosks, online travel sites, airline and hotel reservation networks, travel agent terminals and various other travel solutions.
