In Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, cases of Love Jihad keep coming frequently. In a recent incident, a Muslim man named Jamal Khan trapped a Hindu girl in love by hiding his identity and then converted her to Islam and married her. After a few days, Jamal threw the woman out of the house by giving illegal triple talaq.
According to the woman, Jamal Khan had introduced himself to the girl by posing as Sonu. After Nikah, when he came to know that she was already married, Jamal started beating her. On the complaint of the woman, the Majhola police have registered an FIR and started investigation.
The woman is a resident of Khushalpur in Majhola. The woman told that four years ago, Jamal Khan had befriended her by calling himself a Hindu. After this, he started calling and talking and by pretending to be in love, he got trapped in his trap. One day Jamal proposed marriage to the woman and she agreed.
The woman alleges that at the last moment, Jamal revealed his reality and started pressuring her to convert. The woman says that she converted from Hindu to Muslim following his words and married Jamal. After marriage, she was harassed for dowry.
The woman, who left Hinduism and became a Muslim, alleged that during this time a daughter was born to her. After this her husband started demanding five lakh rupees and a car from her. Meanwhile, he came to know that Jamal Khan was already married. He has already been married for 18 years and has two children.
The woman says that when she protested, Jamal started assaulting her. On 24 April 2023, Jamal started fighting with her in an inebriated state and then threw her out of the house after giving triple talaq. After this the woman lodged a complaint at Majhola police station.
The in-charge of Majhola police station says that after the complaint of the woman, an FIR has been lodged against the accused Jamal Khan for dowry harassment, rape, assault and triple talaq under the Prohibition of Religion Act. Further action will be taken on the basis of evidence.
